Sala de Espera | Waiting Room (2020)

This animated video started from two “readymade” elements:
IKEA assembly instructions illustrations and random melodies (generated by algorithms).

The soundtrack was created using modular synthesis, and it suggested and inspired the visual narrative – I am inclined to say that the static narrative was structured as comics story and the soundtrack was what inspired the whole sequence.

The title “waiting room” is a suggestion from Marina Camargo (responsible for the editing) and approaches the strange events and images to the banality of an ordinary place.
