Nik Neves is a Brazilian graphic artist, illustrator, and comic author closely related to his own travel experience, from illustrated maps, sketchbooks, comics, visual diaries, and music.

Nik Neves is a visual artist, working with illustration, drawing, and comics.
He holds two Bachelor’s degrees, in Visual Arts (UFRGS – Porto Alegre), and in Advertisement (PUC – Porto Alegre).
In 2004 Nik Neves finishes his Post-graduation Degree in Illustration from EINA (Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona – Spain). Later he studied lettering and comics at SVA (School of Visual Arts) in New York.
His work has been featured in the books: “Illustration now! 5”, TASCHEN Germany 2014, “Mind the Map”, GESTALTEN, Germany, 2015, “All about Maps”, Sandu, China.
Since 2006 Nik Neves works on his independent project, a magazine called Inútil (meaning “useless”, in Portuguese), where he experiments with comics and other visual narratives. More recently Nik has been exploring the possibilities of comics as moving images and sound narratives.

Nik Neves é um artista que trabalha com ilustração, desenho e narrativas visuais.
Graduado em Artes Visuais (UFRGS) e Publicidade (PUCRS), fez pós-graduação em ilustração na EINA (Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona), além de se especializar em tipografia, lettering e quadrinhos na SVA (School of Visual Arts) em Nova York. Atualmente vive e trabalha em Berlim.
Entre 2013 e 2016 fez parte do conceito e organização da feira de publicações independentes Parada Gráfica, e em 2018 foi um dos curadores da exposição MAGMA, dentro do festival de quadrinhos Fumetto (Lucerna, Suiça).
Seu trabalho pode ser visto nos livros: “Illustration now! 5”, TASCHEN Alemanha 2014, “Mind the Map”, GESTALTEN, Alemanha, 2015, “All about Maps” Sandu, China.
